Battlefield 6 is getting a brand-new battle royale mode. According to recent leaks from data miners, Battlefield: RedSec will launch as a free-to-play mode on October 28. Developed by Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE, this new addition brings back the battle royale format with a modern twist.
Battlefield: RedSec launching October 28
Unlike traditional launches, EA reportedly won’t release any trailers or marketing material ahead of time. This means the new mode will arrive as a shadow drop, launching simultaneously with Battlefield 6 Season 1.

Although the name “RedSec” has already sparked debate on social media, early leaks suggest the gameplay will stay true to classic battle royale mechanics. Matches will take place on a large, fully destructible map with 100 players competing for survival. Each round is expected to last around 25 minutes.
Additional leaked details reveal that players will have two armor plate slots and access to both ground vehicles and helicopters, with countermeasures available for defense. Proximity voice chat will also be included to heighten the in-game tension and strategy.
Battlefield: RedSec is set to go live on October 28 as a free download. The launch marks a significant step for the franchise, introducing a competitive new battle royale experience within the familiar Battlefield universe.
