Apple may not bring a smaller Dynamic Island to the iPhone 18 Pro after all. New claims from well-known leakers suggest the change has been delayed, with the updated design now said to be planned for the iPhone 19 Pro instead.
iPhone 18 Pro could look very close to the current model
Leaker Digital Chat Station, who had previously claimed that the iPhone 18 Pro would adopt a smaller Dynamic Island, has now revised that expectation. In a new post on Weibo, the leaker said Apple may leave that change for the next generation, which points to the iPhone 19 Pro.

The same post also claimed Apple is considering using the same molds as the iPhone 17 Pro. If that turns out to be accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro may arrive with only limited changes to its external design.
A similar message came from Ice Universe. In another Weibo post, the leaker said there is effectively no major change and added that even the body size does not appear to be shifting much.
There may still be a small physical difference in the larger model. According to the leak, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could measure 8.8 mm in thickness, compared to 8.75 mm for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. That slight increase may support earlier claims pointing to a larger battery.
Previous leaks tied to the iPhone 18 lineup mainly focused on display sizes, but a few hardware details have also surfaced. Those reports claimed the iPhone 18 Pro would use an A20 Pro chip, deliver slightly better battery life, and include a variable aperture camera.
Digital Chat Station described those changes as the main upgrades for the device. Based on that view, Apple may rely on internal improvements rather than a noticeable redesign to give buyers a reason to move to the new model.
That could leave a gap for users who want the latest iPhone to look visibly different from the previous one. If the current leaks are correct, Apple may try to create that separation with fresh color options instead of a major design update.
